“No Shave November

For the entire month of November some of our Police Officers will be growing mustaches and beards to help raise some money and awareness towards a great cause!

Lakehurst Police Officers are getting a month off from rules requiring them to be clean-shaven and have neatly groomed hair if they give and raise money to help fight cancer.

Chief Higgins approved participation in “No-Shave November” for officers who agree to donate and raise money to help fight cancer. This is a unique way for us to show support for raising cancer awareness while deviating from our normal grooming standards. Officers who choose to participate must keep their facial hair neatly trimmed, but may go without shaving for the entire month of November.

“No Shave November” was started to raise cancer awareness, it’s one more way that your police officers give back. If you come in to contact with one of our officers, and notice a change in appearance, it’s for a good cause.

The following foundations will benefit from this fundraiser: The American Cancer Society, Colorectal Cancer Society, Prevent Cancer Foundation and the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Please help support our officers and their fundraising efforts by making a donation. Please follow this link to our fund-raising page.

****Holiday Toy Drive****

With the Holiday season quickly approaching, the Lakehurst Police Association is seeking help from the community and local businesses again for our annual toy drive. Police Officers from the Lakehurst Borough Police Department each year try to make Christmas special for families in need and we couldn’t do it without the generous support of our community and local businesses.

Donations of new items of clothing and new toys for infants and teenagers would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be dropped off at the Lakehurst Police Department any time. We ask that all donations arrive unwrapped so we can better access the needs of families needing assistance. Monetary donations are also accepted.

If you have any questions, wish to donate, or know a family in need, please contact Sergeant Iain James at (732) 657-7812 Ext 314. Anyone who has a need for assistance is asked to fill out the attached form and email it to or you may print it out and drop off at police headquarters.

We once again thank you for all of your generosity and continued support and from everyone at the Lakehurst Police Department, we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy and safe holiday season!
